Twin screw extrusion technique
Twin screw extrusion is widely used for mixing or compounding polymeric materials. Twin screw extrusion is nowadays finding great application in food processing.
Many products such as pastas, breakfast cereals, pellets and snacks are now manufactured by extrusion. The same process is also used with grains such as wheat, corn, and rice.
Twin screw extrusion has 2 main advantages over other manufacturing processes :
- It creates complex cross sections and work fragile raw materials
- It forms finished parts with first rate surface finish.
The twin screw extrusion process developed by Clextral, enables permanent production of standarized compounds for the food, paper, plastics and chemical industries, using natural or synthetic raw materials.
