Plastic extrusion processing
Plastic extrusion is a manufacturing process in which raw plastic material is fused and formed into a uninterrupted profile. Since 1956, Clextral has participated in the growth of plastic industry with the manufacture of the first twin screw machines allowing plastic extrusion.
Plastic extrusion is present into several markets: production of plastic materials for automotive industry, explosives, masterbatches, recycling of elaborated products, cosmetics, reactive chemistry...
In plastic extrusion process, thermoplastic materials are nourished from a hopper into the heated barrel of an extruder. Then, a rotating screw inside the barrel pushes the plastic through the barrel toward the die located at the end of the machine.
